Neil Quigley Stand Up Comedy

About Neil

I have been working in radio for the last twenty two years all over the country.

I have worked at the following radio stations Radio 4, Mix 96, Mix 107, Passion 107.9, Hereward Fm, Garrison Fm Ivel fm and Midwest Radio.

I feel so lucky to be doing a job I absolutely love. As well as the radio presenting I have hosted many live events, concerts, awards ceremonies and sporting occasions including doing a whole show from the home of football Wembley Stadium. I have also found myself on countless judging panels for talent competitions and played live as a DJ to thousands of people. I am a massive comedy fan. Another thing I adore about my job is the opportunity to meet and interview some amazing people.

I have had the honour of meeting the guitar legend that is Jimmy Paige while I was dressed as Elvis, I have appeared in a TV show with John Nettles and I once held a door open for Trinny and Susanah!

Musically I like everything and anything but probably my favourite album is Robbie Williams’ Escapology. I  went to see him at Knebworth on the final night what a showman. If you listen really closely you can hear me on the live version of Angels from that gig. I am the one off key.

I met John Nettles complete with a TV crew for filming for a ITV/Westcountry series called John Nettles Applauds celebrating performance in the West Country. I interviewed John on my radio show. Then John Interviewed me.  All of it was filmed. It was shown on TV on ITV Westcountry at 7.30pm on Thursday 14th August 2008. It was a truimph I believe!

I did film a BBC3 Comedy Pilot Show called the Lee Nelson Well Good Show playing a Football Club Media Officer in a Press Conference scene for the comedy football character Jason Bent but I was left on the cutting room floor, so the launch of the big TV acting career may have to wait a bit longer. I am also working on some other TV and Radio projects. More news on those soon.

I got down to the final auditions to be on the first series Take Me Out, but did not quite get on the show, “No likey No Lighty” Lucky escape I think.

I am doing quite a lot of writing currently with a mate for a book project we are working on, in the early stages currently but watch this space.I am also working on a couple of Sit Com ideas. In the last twelve months I have started doing some Stand Up comedy which I enjoy greatly and will be doing more of.

Famous people I have met include, Kerry Katona, Tony Hadley, Shane Lynch, Keith Duffy, Jimmy Paige, Bob Holness, Sir Steve Redgrave, Britt Eckland, Richard Hammond, Kate Ford, Roy Walker, Richard Fleishman, Suzi Quatro, Alan Titchmarsh, Des Lynham, Carl Foggarty, Anne Charleston, Nobby Stiles, Katie Price, Chico,East 17, Simon Webbe, Lee Ryan, Duncan James, Antony Costa, Journey South, Eton Road,Aswad, Hannah Waterman,John Nettles, Grace Adams- Short, Buster Bloodvessel, Ben Langley,Paul Merson,Bobby Gee, Christopher Biggins, Timmy Mallett, Sue Hodge, Trinny and Susanah, Gary Lucy, Lee Nelson, Jodie Prenger, Charlotte Milchard, Jonathan Wilkes, Frank Bruno, Pat Sharp, Victoria Pendelton, Bill Turnbull, Joe Pasquale and Sophie Ellis-Bextor kind of ( though thats a bit of a long story) plus the bloke who used to play the policeman in Allo Allo!!
